May 14th 2008, Carroll Valley Police and the Fairfield Middle School hosted the 13th Annual D.A.R.E. Culmination Ceremony.  Essay Award Winners receive their own Daren the D.A.R.E. Lion and all students received T-shirts, medals and certificate.  Students also enjoyed pizza provided at a discount from Ventura's Family Restaurant in Fairfield.

Wildlife Conservation Officer Darren David presents Carroll Valley Chief of Police Richard L Hileman II with the Pennsylvania Game Commission's Sport Ethics Award for the Police Department's assistance in several poaching incidents in 2005 and 2006.  The award was presented at the July Borough Council Meeting. WCO David told Council it was one of two such awards he has awarded in his career.
