In January and February of 2003 Carroll Valley and the Fairfield area were being plagued by a rash of evening burglaries that had Carroll
Valley Police strengthening the early evening patrol. In February Patrolman Weikert located, pursued and caught a suspect in these
incidents. From this initial arrest, jurisdictions in several PA counties and the State of Maryland have been able to link burglaries
to the man Weikert arrested and the investigations continue. In recognition for Patrolman Weikert's work on this case and on recommendation
of the Mayor and Chief of Police, Weikert was promoted to Patrolman First Class by Borough Council in March 2003.
Patrolman Weikert attended Gettysburg High School where he was best known for his time on the gridiron. After high school he attended

received his BA degree in Business Economics and a Minor in Accounting in May of 2000.
