Borough Council has regularly scheduled public meetings once monthly, on the second Tuesday after the first Monday. Regular meetings begin at 7.00 pm and the public is encouraged to participate.  All regularly scheduled public meetings are also video recorded, and available to watch!

John Van Volkenburgh

Council President
John lives in the Ranch Section with his wife Cathy of 16 years. They have four children; Ages 10, 8, 5, and 2.  He is a Graduate of S.U.N.Y at Oswego with a B.S. in Business Administration. His hobbies include NASCAR, Camping, Fishing, and local travel. John attends church at St. Mary's in Fairfield, is a member of the Knights of Columbus, and has been employed by State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company for almost 13 years
 

Frank Buhrman

Frank (4 Crossland Trail) has lived in Carroll Valley since 1985. He and Sandy, his wife for 36 years, are the parents of two grown children, Joan and Randy, and have two grandchildren. Frank heads the communication and marketing department at Cross Keys Village -- The Brethren Home Community in New Oxford. Appointed to Borough Council in 2007, he has served on the Planning Commission since 1990 and was its chair from 1995-2000. He and Sandy also are active in Lower Marsh Creek Presbyterian Church. The Buhrmans are natives of Richmond, Virginia, and have lived all their lives in the mid-Atlantic states.
 

Tammy Lytle

 Tammy is a long-time resident volunteer of the Borough and is currently serving as a Borough council-member.
 

Dan Patton

Mr. Patton and his wife have resided in Carroll Valley for the past 7 years and state, "Life is good on Lake Kay!" Dan has worked in Risk Management, for the City of Fredrick, Frederick Md. For the past 14 years. He and his wife, Kathy, have 4 children: Melissa (36), Dan Jr. (32) Lacey (33) and Lance (29) all married with each contributing to a total of 7 Grandchildren! ! His volunteer activities include teaching CPR/FA and the use of an AED, Dan serves on the Planning, Public Safety, and various ad hoc committees for the Borough. Dan was born in Queens New York, New York, Raised in Baltimore County Md., served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict (Airborne), 18th Airborne Corp for 3 years.
 

Bill Reinke

Bill lives on Persimmon Trail with his wife of Amy, and their children, Aidan, Gracelyn, and Jackson.  Their fourth child is expected in May 2010.  Bill has served on the Borough Council and Finance Committee in May 2007. Bill works in Rockville MD as a Project Manager for Capital Financial Partners, a financial consulting firm.  Bill and Amy are active members of Frederick Christian Fellowship Church where they serve as directors of the Marriage and Family Ministry. Closer to home, Bill and Amy enjoy hosting many of the Appalachian Trail "Thru-Hikers" as they enter Pennsylvania on their 2,000+ mile journey from Georgia to Maine. Bill was born and raised in Towson, MD, just outside of Baltimore, and graduated from the University of Vermont with a Bachelor's Degree in Wildlife Biology. His hobbies include hiking, writing, and most of all, spending time with his family.
 

Neal Abrams

 Neal has served his community for several years.  He has just started his 4th year as a Borough Council member.
 

Ken Lundberg

 Ken has served the Borough in various capicities for many years.  He currently serves as Borough council-member, and sits on the sewer and water authority, and civil service commission.
